In this project, we provided additional support and reinforcement for a floor system with leveling issues and soft spots. Upon inspecting the crawlspace, we found that the existing posts were shifting, shimmed, and some were undersized (2″x4″). To address this, we installed new “sister” posts and concrete pier blocks alongside the damaged ones. The new posts are made from 4″x4″ pressure-treated wood, and we added concrete pier blocks with steel caps between the Girder Beam and the new posts. These upgrades will enhance the stability and reinforcement of the floor above, preventing further leveling issues, wall cracks, and soft, hollow areas.
