In this project, we installed earthquake retrofitting and two rows of support beams in the crawlspace. The earthquake retrofitting was completed with a city permit, fully adhering to the California standard plan for retrofitting. Additionally, we added new support beams in the crawlspace to stabilize a floor that had developed a noticeable slope. The existing beams were too short and did not span the entire distance from the front footing to the back footing. While some of the posts were replaced, they were not sufficient to properly support the weight of the floor.
